He managed federal grant programs funded separately by the US Department of Health and Human Services and the US Department of Agriculture. Kevin is also a graduate student at the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) pursuing a Master in Public Health with a concentration in Health Care Organizations and Management. He received his Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Biology and Public Health, from Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL). During his undergraduate studies, he worked as the Executive Director and Director of Administration of the Medical Response Unit at FSU; Teaching Assistant for Emergency Medical Response, Clinical Medical Assisting, and Biology courses; and Behavioral Case Manager.
His combined experiences in patient care, training future paraprofessionals, managing organizations, and providing COVID-19 relief in northern Florida have shown his passion for addressing population health inequities. The communities with limited access to health care facilities, whether through distance or operating hours, further exacerbated by social determinants of health, present unique challenges replicated throughout many areas in our country. He has learned it takes dedicated individuals and a commitment to forward-thinking management to overcome these inequities.
