Emergency Room
Madison County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department provides emergency services 24-hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We are always open and ready to serve any emergency need.
Our Emergency Department treats over 900 patients each month. Our Emergency Team consist of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, emergency technicians and respiratory therapists.
On February 4, 2015, Madison County Memorial Hospital partnered with Capital Regional Medical Center in offering Madison County’s first Tele-Stroke Program. Now equipped with “RETA” (Remote Emergency Tele-medicine Assistant), the MCMH Emergency Room has the capability of bringing a live virtual neurologist into the room with the patient. This type of extraordinary care is made possible by the latest in stroke-care technology.
The Emergency Department consists of a large patient assessment room (triage room), four private treatment rooms, one of which is a negative pressure room used to treat patients with infectious conditions, as well as a two-bed major medicine/trauma room. The department also has a hazardous materials decontamination room.
Due to safety and privacy issues, only one immediate family member per patient is allowed in the treatment area. A parent or guardian must accompany a minor child throughout the Emergency Department stay.
